jump to repliesAll Neocities sites are down because Namecheap locked the domain without warning... and with that, taken down a huge part of the indieweb.
Don't use Namecheap, and if you do it's easy to move.
Namecheap's customer service is awful and they are much more expensive than alternatives. Now is the time to leave. or later maybe after you've had a snack is fine, too.
The servers are still up and accessible, it's just the DNS is down.
If you either control your DNS or know how to add a local rule you can map *.neocities.org to 23.143.32.2 and things seem to work.

@gintoxicating idk why i suddenly thought of this but it would be cool if there was a community of shared hostfiles that people could opt into to have their favorite indie stuffs be available even without DNS
