All Neocities sites are down because Namecheap locked the domain without warning... and with that, taken down a huge part of the indieweb.

Don't use Namecheap, and if you do it's easy to move.

Namecheap's customer service is awful and they are much more expensive than alternatives. Now is the time to leave. or later maybe after you've had a snack is fine, too.

The servers are still up and accessible, it's just the DNS is down.

If you either control your DNS or know how to add a local rule you can map *.neocities.org to  23.143.32.2 and things seem to work.

@gintoxicating namecheap is not only more expensive, but also has very shady plans advertising "unlimited" storage if i remember correctly. they also consistently ignore the scammers using their services, they're notorious for hosting scam domains.

i'm currently on porkbun, but i'm trying to move away from U.S. tech. do you (or anyone here) have suggestions for EU based registrars that have sane pricing and WHOIS privacy?
