which is the correct way to store drinkware: sitting on its mouth or on its butt

two glass pint-sized cups sit alone in my cupboard (wow so literal) on the left is a cup is placed on the mouth - where you drink out of. or, in other words, upside down from the way if using/drinking from it on the right is a cup sitting on its bottom (base?), positioned in the same way you would if using/drinking from it
