trending is censored, recommended accounts builds a bland monoculture and encourages clout chasing and is censored, and I’m guessing followed hashtags are just tiny subsets of that corpo vibe
mastodon needs to stop trying to be a global corporate social media site. that’s bluesky. they won that battle stop trying and also be glad because that battle sucks.
fedi (and mastodon as part) has strength in that it is a community of communities

A witch wishing to meditate away from others takes a boat and goes to the middle of a bog. She closes her eyes and begins to meditate, producing witchcrafts. After a few hours of uninterrupted silence, she suddenly feels and hears a bumping of another boat hitting hers.
