Verdict

It's important to note that a huge part of the trending "estrogen solves everything in women" narrative is political.

Many symptoms of menopause and aging warrant treatment. But we also need to be aware that overprescribing estrogen to cis women aligns with regressive, misogynistic ideas:

a woman's worth is defined by her ability to birth babies

she should be preserved at her reproductive peak to "retain value"

women "hit the wall" at 30 then expire at menopause

Like for other issues that align with these ideas, scientific evidence is currently being distorted to justify overprescribing estrogen.

(see also: highlighting "endocrine disruptors" to market clean products, blocking access to abortion and trans healthcare...)

Be very wary of people overselling the benefits.
