Bio
i post for attention and affection (it's a youngest child thing): memes, tech rambles, newly acquired domain names, and short irreverent nonsense i think is funny. ymmv.
seattle based. single parent. self-unemployed after >20 years in big tech
created 1st mastodon account: 2022-12-22
found out i was a girl: 2022-12-22
(former was causal to the latter)
i don’t use ai in my writing because it capitalizes words, and also because writing is the fun part for me (you do you!)
ask me about my banger domain names!

a group of ravens is called a murder;
a group of trans girls is called an orgy
i know i'm not supposed to like or use ai but it just spit this out when I asked what linux distro is the most trans:
"""
Arch has chaotic trans girl energy and there is real data backing “a suspicious number of trans women run Arch.”
- DIY, “build your own system from pieces,” and refusing defaults maps weirdly well to gender DIY and transition culture.
- Heavy emphasis on documentation, sharing configs, and community knowledge (dotfiles, wikis, AUR) mirrors how trans communities share HRT guides, voice tips, fashion, etc.

If you ever think to yourself, I want to chat with that person, but I don't want to bother them.
STOP, go send them a dm, they may also want to chat with you, but feel too anxious to send a dm.
In the worst case scenario they will just ignore you, it's fine.
Please do dm people
How I know I’m trans: I saw a headline about “rust: console edition” and my first thought was “wow, typing in code with a playstation controller sounds awful”
somehow they found out i needed a new backpack and have targeted me directly
my family wants to go play something called “top golf” so I say it’s unfair because I’m a bottom, but since they’re all cishet they didn’t understand
Hey Germans, please come up with a word that means "the fear of typing `return` vs `shift-return` because you don't know which inserts newline and which sends the message"
Best bathroom graffiti
I confused the tsa man to the point where they weren’t sure which button to press on the body scanner, so they just said screw it and sent me through the xray machine
I feel this needs to be repeated 🍪
The annoyance of cookie banners
doesn't come from the regulations, but from the malicious compliance of the corporations who want to exploit your personal data.
No data-harvesting cookies = No banner.
Simple.
My websites have no cookie banners,
because they don't use any non-essential cookies and don't track visitors.
Yours shouldn't either.
i still occasionally get one of those fun validating head spiny moments when I find out a weird experience is a Genuine Transfem Thing That Happens
