Been wanting to try a tumblr-like, so I signed up for PillowFort.social to give that a try.

It's adfree, free (a few optional pay features+donation funded), and has explicitly stated they will always allow legal NSFW content.

So far I've met some nice trans folks and seen a lot of cool art/artists. Seems a bit quiet and sleepy but the text box is way bigger and since there's no algorithm the quiet aspect may be my fault :D
