@winter fyi (you might already know this) but the first few pages of AEtherglow don't render on Apple's Books app. The rest of the book seems to render okay though. (video is from the Light version but it's universal across all three)
I don't think this is a big problem, it works fine on everything else. I only opened it in the Books app because I accidentally double clicked it :D

@ginny interesting problem, I have no way to really test it without an apple device but there might be an obvious cause since it’s specifically the front matter that was added after the actual text that’s working, it’s probably something obvious I’ll look into it tomorrow. thanks for notifying!
