@Genderqueerwolf@wandering.shop while i do agree with some of this,.to expect most queer people to sanitize their posts or make an alt account for the sole purpose of not putting that content in front of kids isnt really fair either. people should be able to decide what types of audiences that theyre comfortable seeing them express themselves.,,

also the assumption that we put DNI's on our accounts is because we think children want to be sexual with us is inherently really fucking weird to think. I put up DNIs to avoid a prison sentence,,not that itll matter in court,,but maybe itll keep me and my family safe while still letting me voice the thoughts i want,,sexual or not

Ive read about someone who got put in prison,,was permanently marked as a sex offender,,and lost their privileges to using the internet because a kid
intentionally tried hooking up with them just to get them to send lewd pictures and then report it..

im not trying to say all kids are as malicious as this,,but all it takes is a parent with a stick up their ass to peek over a shoulder and see one of my nsfw posts and im fucked,,man. it has nothing to do with my assuming they wanna hook up with me,,im not taking that risk just so a kid can understand 'real queerness'

and im sorry if thats fucked up to hear,,but as someone who lives in a
heavily conservative area and still has the stomach to wear a pride flag around.,avoiding children is survival for me. youd understand too if you had as many people threaten you or scream pedophile at you as i have for daring to even look in the direction of one of their kids

@Genderqueerwolf @TeensyTinyKobold part of this read to me as saying transfems need to get over their ongoing trauma and concern for their own safety so we look less sexual to people

our existence is constantly sexualized, we can’t turn off transphobia lol I tried

there is a very real risk that if a transmisogynist parent finds a perfectly innocuous chat with a tranny woman… we go to jail

@ginny @Genderqueerwolf @TeensyTinyKobold An MDNI statement in your bio won't protect you from that though. Like Ky said, it's not a legal disclaimer.

Some governments are trying to classify trans people's mere existence as a sex-crime. There's no safe way to exist as a trans person under these laws. But in any halfway-sensible jurisdiction it is impossible to go to jail for an innocuous chat. And if you want to talk lewd, it's your responsibility to ask their age first.

@ginny @Genderqueerwolf @TeensyTinyKobold This thread is about putting "Minors DNI" in your bio and other things that push the responsibility onto the minor instead of on you.

You might have noticed that Ky's suggestions for alternatives include having a private profile and blocking minors that attempt to follow you.

@Misofist @ginny @Genderqueerwolf @TeensyTinyKobold exactly, they'll come for you either way and you can't stop that by putting a fig Leaf in your bio. Fracturing our community is what they want because it makes us all weaker and thus all more vulnerable to dying, we can't let them shame us into doing their dirty work for them
